There are some other methods as well which can be used to remove unwanted hairs from body.
- Plucking
- Waxing
- Bleaching
- Shaving
- Body Wax
- Threading
- Electrolysis
- Creams
- Laser Hair Removal
- Brazilian wax
Shaving and Epilators
This is the easiest method of hair removal but has the least desirable effects. It removes the hair from only the surface of the skin; as a result the hair re-grows on a daily basis. It appears as stubble, is uncomfortable, and cuts, bumps and reddish rashes may occur. Razor burns are very painful. Epilators are very convenient to use and are battery operated and safe.
Depilatory creams and sprays
They work by targeting the keratin in the hair and the skin. As a result, it dissolves it and damage ensues. Additionally, you run the risk of absorbing chemicals in your blood. It may also result in pimples, folliculitis; pre-mature skin aging, cracking and thickening of the epidermis.
Body Wax
Waxing removes the hair shaft and root and leaves the hair bulb intact. New hair starts to reappear 4 to 6 weeks after this treatment, depending upon your body growth. The hair is finer and thinner and lesser with each successive treatment.
Waxing has 2 different kinds,
Strip Wax
This is a synthetic wax for removing hair from large parts of the body, legs, arms, back and buttocks. It consists of synthetic ingredients like latex. This method is less expensive but it takes longer period of time and doesn’t pick up the small hairs.
Hot Wax
This is made from natural ingredients like honey, resin, beeswax, and essential oils. It is perfect for more sensitive areas of the body like the bikini line, face, eyebrows and upper lips. It is less likely to cause trauma, especially if used with the correct pre-wax oil so that it can grip the fine hair. It is self supporting and you do not have to use strips. The clean-up time is much shorter and easier. But, it is relatively a more expensive method and wax takes longer to heat up.
Electrolysis
This is the most effective way of hair removal and destroys the bulb of the hair. But it is a costly method and also a painful method.
Laser:
This method targets the dark visible hair and is very costly and painful, it can be administrated over larger areas and the re-growth of the hair is minimal.
Threading and Plucking
This method usually adopted for facial hair. Plucking is usually done to the small areas using tweezers. It takes couple of days to re-grow the hairs.
Bleaching
This treatment does not remove the hair by any means. It simply dissolve the pigment that gives the hair color so the hair becomes colorless and somewhat invisible and is bleached.
